Painting for Prevention
On April 7th, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, HCA-Mission is sponsoring Painting for Prevention, an education and fundraising event at the Russell and Armstrong Gallery, 24 N. Lexington Avenue, Downtown Asheville. Gallery owners Jeremy Russell and Alicia Anne Armstrong have made art for 20 years in Asheville. They have graciously opened their space to help us raise awareness about child abuse prevention. On April 19th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, join us at Mountain Child Advocacy Center's downtown office at 124 College Street, Third Floor, for a film showing of "Spare the Child", a local film production from the Justice Film Collective. The short documentary explores the childhoods and subsequent adulthoods of three diverse survivors of childhood abuse and the lifelong impact on the human body, heart, and psyche.
